Black Hills National Forest

Black Hills National Forest boasts 1.2 million acres of rock formations, canyons, lakes, and grassland parks, meaning plenty of room for powersports riding and things worth seeing.

Blacktail Trailhead

As a forewarning, this area is best suited to experienced riders, as it contains some of the most difficult trails in the district. You will also need to have a vehicle that is 50 inches wide or less. However, if you fit these criteria, you’ll find miles of trails to enjoy west of Cook Lake.

Ogden Creek Trailhead

While this area also requires that vehicles be 50 inches or less in width, it is more accessible, with options suitable for all skill and experience levels. Pick from any four trails southeast of Warren Peak and start your adventure!

Bighorn National Forest

This park contains arguably the most diverse landscape in Wyoming, with alpine meadows, glacially-carved valleys, and majestic mountain cliffs. Bighorn has over 189,000 acres of wilderness and 1,200 miles of trails.

Bald Ridge ATV Trail - Buffalo, Wyoming

Best suited for more experienced riders due to its difficulty, this trail takes riders along the boundary of the wilderness, passing through high-elevation mountain meadows.

Granite Creek Trail - Greybull, Wyoming

A short trail accessible to riders no matter their skill level, this route nevertheless offers stunning views as it runs along Antelope Butte. Great for those who want a quick but picturesque ride.

Bighorn Reservoir Trail - Sheridan, Wyoming

Another trail suitable for powersports riders of all skill levels, this one takes you along the shore of Bighorn Reservoir. Between the abundant wildlife, red sandstone, and beautiful waterway vistas, there is almost enough beauty here to leave you overwhelmed.
